How It All Started:
In Early 2020, Seoul Viosys, the world’s first compound semiconductor for short wavelengths solutions, announced that they will launch portable, UV LED-C, clean products that offer a 99.9% sterilization rate for air in small spaces, as well as for bacteria and viruses found on everyday personal items: such as phones, masks, wallets, keys, and more.
Seoul Viosys noted that it will launch these portable disinfection products with SETi in April in an effort to target and limit the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). By April 2020, a Violeds sterilization test conducted with a research group of Korea University proved that Violeds does in fact sterilize coronavirus. By applying this technology, Seoul Viosys began producing the Air Purifier "VAC," which is optimally designed to sterilize filters 99.9% in 30 seconds, and Multi Sterilizer "VSM+," which sterilizes the surface of everyday objects 99.9% in 10 minutes.
So, What Is Violeds?
Violeds is brand based around compound semiconductor technology, which means that we use UV LED for sterilization and sanitation. This concept of “clean technology” isn’t new though – our parent company’s Seoul Viosys and SETi have been working on this since 2005 when they noticed a need for the prevention of germ proliferation through the use of a light source (photon), as this would remove the need for toxic chemicals that could be harmful to humans. As of this year, the company has more than 1,000 patents related to the light source (photon) applications of Violeds technology.
In fact, this technology has already been applied to the International Space Station of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The brand has become so popular that Violeds technology has been adopted for 2021 electronics models of such as refrigerators, drying machines, washing machines by three of the top global brands!
It hasn’t stopped there though - The BIO research team at Seoul Viosys has been carrying out numerous research and development projects with in-house laboratories cultivating and sterilizing various bacteria and viruses. This resulted in the creation of a so-called "Photon Shower" product that is applied with this technology to help bolster the safety of medical staff and patients who have been struggling amid COVID-19 pandemic. However, this isn’t secular to the current pandemic; according to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) almost 14,000 people die annually in the United States from hospital infections. In turn, the utilization of this technology by hospitals will help save countless in the years to come.
